FOUR-CYLINDER ENGINE ASSEMBLY
Autodesk Inventor
GOAL
Practice mechanical CAD design by modeling a complex system made of multiple moving parts that work together.

MY APPROACH
I designed and assembled the engine components in Autodesk Inventor, including the pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, and cylinder block. After modeling each part, I used assembly constraints to connect the components and simulate how the pistons move when the crankshaft rotates.
CHALLENGES
Making sure the parts were aligned correctly and setting the assembly constraints so the piston movement matched the crankshaft rotation.
WHAT I LEARNED
How mechanical components work together in an engine and how CAD assemblies can simulate real mechanical motion.
NEXT IMPROVEMENT
I plan to 3D print the model and use it to power my Smart Safety Motor System and study its behaviour in a real-life prototype
